Wenxing Hong received Ph.D. degree in System Engineering from Xiamen University, China, in 2010. He is the member of IEEE. Since 2010, he has been with the Department of Automation, Xiamen University, China, where he is currently an Associate Professor.

He is the author or co-author of more than 15 papers. He has led and participated in more than 10 research projects and funds, including National Natural Science Foundation of China. His current research interests are in the area of data mining, big data, recommendation system, mobile applications. He is the head of Research Center for Systems and Control, Xiamen University and Center for Cloud Computing and Big Data, Xiamen University. He has been served as the general secretary of the International Conference on Computer Science and Education (ICCSE) and Fujian Systems Engineering Society, from 2006 and 2010, respectively.
